Restricciones de entrada
España ha reabierto las fronteras a viajeros de la mayoría de los países de la UE; la entrada a viajeros procedentes de otras zonas continúa restringida, excepto para los ciudadanos y residentes en España, y viajeros que acompañen a familiares cercanos.
Hasta el 16 de marzo España no permite entrar a viajeros que hayan estado en el Reino Unido, Brasil o Sudáfrica, a excepción de ciudadanos y residentes de España y Andorra.
Desde el 22 de julio de 2020, los viajeros que lleguen desde Serbia ya no pueden entrar en España.
Para los viajeros que lleguen de fuera de la UE, solo podrán entrar en España si son de las siguientes categorías:
•Los residentes habituales en la UE, los miembros asociados a la zona Schengen, Andorra, Mónaco, la Ciudad del Vaticano y San Marino.
•Los titulares de visados de larga duración emitidos por un estado miembro asociado a la zona Schengen que viajen a dicho país.
•Profesionales sanitarios que viajen a España por motivos laborales.
•Personal del sector del transporte de mercancías en cumplimiento de sus labores.
•Diplomáticos, funcionarios consulares, funcionarios internacionales, militares, miembros de protección civil y de organizaciones humanitarias en cumplimiento de sus labores.
•Estudiantes que estudien en algún país de la UE/zona Schengen y tenga el visado o permiso correspondiente, así como seguro médico. Deben entrar en el país 15 días antes del inicio de los estudios.
•Trabajadores de alta cualificación tales como participantes en eventos deportivos de alto nivel que se celebren en España.
•Personas que viajen por motivos familiares debidamente justificados.
•Personas que viajen por motivos humanitarios justificados o de fuerza mayor.
•Residentes de Australia, Canadá, Georgia, Japón, Nueva Zelanda, Ruanda, Corea del Sur, Tailandia, Túnez o Uruguay, siempre que viajen directamente desde esos países o solo hagan tránsito internacional en aeropuertos fuera de dichos países.
Requisitos de entrada
Desde el 23 de noviembre todos los viajeros (niños incluidos) que lleguen de Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Austria, Baréin, Bélgica, Belice, Bosnia y Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croacia, Chipre, la República Checa, Dinamarca, Estonia, Francia, Polinesia Francesa, Georgia, Alemania, Gibraltar, Grecia, Guam, Hungría, Islandia, Irlanda, Italia, Jordania, Kuwait, Letonia, Líbano, Libia, Liechtenstein, Lituania, Luxemburgo, Malta, Moldavia, Mónaco, Marruecos, Países Bajos, Macedonia del Norte, Noruega, Palestina, Panamá, Polonia, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Rumanía, Rusia, San Marino, Serbia, Eslovaquia, Eslovenia, San Martín, Suecia, Suiza, Túnez, EAU, Reino Unido, Ucrania y Estados Unidos deben presentar un certificado médico que acredite resultado negativo por COVID-19 en prueba TMA, LAMP o PCR emitido en las 72 horas previas a la llegada, a excepción de quienes lleguen de las Azores (Portugal); Rogaland, More og Romsdal, Nordland, Viken, Innlandet, Vestfold og Telemark, Agder, Vestland, Trondelag o Troms og Finnmarkin (Noruega); Kitri, Ionia Nisia, Dytiki Ellada o Sterea Ellada (Grecia); las islas Feroe o Groenlandia.
Es posible que se hagan controles sorpresa a la llegada para confirmar que los viajeros se hayan hecho la prueba PCR, TMA o LAMP de COVID-19 y hayan dado negativo. Se multará con al menos 3000 euros a quien no la haya hecho.
España ha abierto de nuevo las fronteras a viajeros de la UE, la zona Schengen y el Reino Unido. Los viajeros que lleguen desde las zonas arriba mencionadas ya no tienen que presentar un certificado de residencia ni aislarse a la llegada a España, pero deben rellenar un cuestionario de salud FCS 48 horas antes de su llegada a través de https://www.spth.gob.es/ y presentar el código QR generado a su llegada. Los viajeros también deben someterse a una toma de temperatura y una evaluación médica visual.
Desde el 14 de noviembre, los viajeros que vayan a las islas Canarias y hayan reservado alojamiento turístico autorizado deben acreditar resultado negativo por COVID-19 emitido en las 72 horas previas a la entrada en el alojamiento, así como descargar y activar la aplicación Radar COVID durante la estancia en las islas y durante los 15 días posteriores al viaje. Los niños menores de 7 años están exentos de estos requisitos.
Las autoridades autonómicas de Baleares han puesto en marcha controles en tres etapas para las llegadas nacionales por aire o mar a las islas, además de las medidas para llegadas internacionales al país. Todos los turistas que lleguen de o por comunidades autónomas con una incidencia acumulada del virus de 150 casos por 100 000 habitantes o más deben acreditar resultado negativo en PCR o TMA emitido en las 72 horas previas a la llegada. Se multará con hasta 3000 euros a quien no lo haya hecho. Quien viaje por un motivo justificado deben rellenar una declaración y hacerse una prueba de antígenos al llegar al aeropuerto o al puerto y ponerse en cuarentena 10 días. Los que vivan en las islas Baleares deben hacerse una PCR en el lugar de partida en las 72 horas previas a la llegada o hacerse la prueba al llegar o ponerse en cuarentena 10 días.

Los viajeros que lleguen desde Brasil o Sudáfrica deben ponerse en cuarentena.
Normas de tránsito
Los viajeros que transiten por España en un aeropuerto español hacia el destino final del viaje no tienen que cumplir el requisito de PCR, TMA o LAMP arriba mencionado. Sin embargo, deben ir preparados para poder acreditar el viaje y llevar consigo confirmación de vuelos al destino final. Es posible que también se apliquen las restricciones impuestas por España a los viajes de pasajeros procedentes del Reino Unido del 22 de diciembre al 19 de enero a los que transiten por España a otros destinos internacionales.

The crew was also unfriendly and while we were already 4 hours delayed one of the crew members (leader) had the audacity to tell her team "why are you guys in a hurrry for?" HELLO! We are already lady. Work harder and faster so we can make up some time. The food was disgusting and they barely give you anything to drink. Also, the planes are very old. Seats uncomfortable, no leg room, no TVs and stink."

The flight attendants looked miserable, but were trying their best given the circumstances. The airplane was outdated, the seats not comfortable, and no in flight entertainment. SATA/Air Azores has a monopoly on the flights in and out of the Azores to the USA and no other airlines are allowed to flight that route. They should be ashamed of themselves by the way they run this airline and treat the passengers."

Desventajas: "I didn't like that when we arrived in Azores we were quarinitined to a space that could only be entered or left by passing Through security. So there were no bathrooms in the waiting area. I was randomly patted down along with a very small child and around half the other passengers. All they offered was water in the waiting machine. After all the waiting, we reboarded the same plane. They did not explain well what was going on."

Desventajas: "The App proved to be useles when our flight was delayed 14+ hours. We were able to check in the day of the flight, but were never alerted when the flight was delayed. We called customer service and waited on hold for 30+ minutes without connecting, even though the automated message said the wait would be 6 mins. Communication as a whole was quite poor and created a lot of anxiety amongst the visibly upset travelers."

Desventajas: "The process of checking in for this flight was horrendous. First of all, I was planning to carry on my bags and check in online. However, the online system wouldn't let me print my boarding pass, so I had no option but to wait in line at the airport. I arrived over 2 hours before my flight, and the scene was jaw dropping. The line to check in on Azores Airlines wrapped all the way around the terminal and was divided into three separate sections so that people could continue pass through the airport. There was no Azores Airlines staff to be found to provide directions or manage the situation, so people kept going into the wrong lines not knowing what the heck was going on. It actually turned out several people had waited in line for an hour for a different flight before realizing they were in the wrong line. Anyways, after a mind-numbing, almost two hour wait, I checked in and went to my gate. The whole flight was delayed since the check-in was so slow. I have no idea what the cause of such a terrible check-in line was, but the Azores Airlines management at the Providence Airport are definitely doing something wrong, and I will avoid flying from there again at all costs!"

Desventajas: "I was scheduled to fly and was delayed for 3 days in Boston. I am still waiting to hear back to be reimbursed for the taxis/ubers that I had to take to the hotels that were provided. The hotels were 40 minutes (1st night) and 1 hour (2nd night) away. There was no one available to talk at the airport and the line was ridiculously long. I had planned a trip for 2.5 weeks exploring Portugal and Spain and missed the Portugal portion completely because I was delayed in Boston. I finally gave up waiting and bought a ticket through a different airline so I could meet my friends and not miss any more of my trip."
Desventajas: "The flight was delayed due to "technical issues" two hours. This seems to be a consistent thing with SATA and Azores Airlines. The crew was rude when my bag did not fit in the cabin and they had to move it, too."

Desventajas: "We arrived to the check in queue 90 min before our flight and it took almost two hours to get through the line. Our seats got swapped and it was a cluster to make it to the gate where we then waited another 45 min for a later departure."

Also I am 6' 3" but wouldn't recommend anyone over 6' fly this airline, at least not in the normal economy seats- I've never had the experience of being unable to move my legs due to the seat in front."

Desventajas: "Flight delayed and we got no information about why. Few updates and bad communication in general. Faced same problems on way to Sao Miguel - only that trio was delayed almost 20 hours. Will avoid that airline in the future if possible."

Desventajas: "The airport in Lisbon was terrible. Got bussed 20 minutes to get to terminal and had to wait 2 hours in line to get through passport line. Could not find my bag, finally found it in a heap to the side. My friend traveling Air Canada had no trouble same day same time."
Ventajas: "The crew is very friendly and helpful."
Desventajas: "They crammed way too many seats into the planes; it's really awful if it's a full flight, and if you're claustrophobic or prefer space around you, forget it! When the guy in front of me reclined his seat, his head was practically in my lap. Some tray tables were broken. The planes seem old. But it's the only airline that flies to the Azores from the U.S., I believe, so this is the only option. They also very slow, and we left late to and from the Azores."
Ventajas: "Nothing. We didn't take this flight because of the SATA airline strike which left us stuck in Ponta Felgada for 2 days."
Desventajas: "We were majorly inconvenienced when finding out our flight was delayed, then cancelled completely, the. It happened again the next day. Lost 2 days of our trip whih were supposed to be in Lisbon. We found a Ryanair flight to Porto just to get to the mainland. What a nightmare. Never flying with Azores/SATA again!!"
Ventajas: "well im not an expert but , my flight was 2.5 h late , i understand thinks happen , but i believe is solution on that . On my job if im late my costumers dont coming back ( it is just how to control the time ) If we not can control the hours on the flights how we can control airplanes in the air ????!!!!!!!!!! Ventajas: "We got home alive. It was the first on time flight we had during of 4 flights with Azores air."
Desventajas: "Seats literally had duct tape on them. Food was atrocious. They only entertainment was the old two prone headphones and 8 looping crackly audio stations. On a calm day landing in in boston we set down one side of the rear landing gear, then the other, and squiggled down the runway. As the pilot didn't touch down early enough on the runway he had to really jam on the brakes. It was greeted with a round of applause because landing alive with azores air seems to be worthy of applause by the regulars... Least legroom of any airline. Bathroom was disgusting after 2 hr. Toilet paper was seemingly wadded up and stuck back into the dispenser. Nobody ever got new paper. Ran out of paper towels as well..."

Desventajas: "A pessoa que nos atendeu em Boston nao foi nem um pouco simpatica e mostrou pouca habilidade para lidar com o publico, nao demonstrou nenhuma boa vontade de ajudar-nos nas nossa duvidas, coloquei a mala na esteira e esqueci-me de colocar o cadeado e pedi a ela por favor para retornar a mala e ela respondeu "grosseiramnete" que nao podia, sendo que a mala ainda estava na esteira. Bem, uma companhia destas deve ter muito cuidado com a escolha do pessoal pois eles sao a cara da companhia em terra."
Ventajas: "We didn't crash."
Desventajas: "So far as I can tell, Azores doesn't particularly know how to run a plane. Their service was laughably bad, if you aren't in the plane suffering it. Boarding is bad. They start about 45 minutes prior to the flight, and need it because they're gonna bus you out to the plane. There is no order to who gets on first, you just get into the mob-like line and hope for the best. Once we got to the plane, we waited standing for no apparent reason for about 30 minutes. No announcement was made (in Portuguese or English). Because there was no order to how people got onto the busses, people blocked the isle getting onto the plane as well. Result, we departed Lisbon 1 hour late. There was a connection in the Azores. There everyone had to deplane, even if you were continuing on (more busses). And then getting onto the plane was the same deal. Result, we departed the islands even later, finally reaching Boston 2:15 late. Amazingly, my connecting flight wouldn't leave for another 40 minutes. The lady at the exit ramp told me that should be enough time to get through customs and over to the connection. Unsurprisingly it wasn't. On the plane, the seats were small and uncomfortable. Leg room was minimal. The seats had screens built into the back of them, but none of them worked. The only 'entertainment' we got was watching Linux continuously reboot on the seat screen next to mine. My personal screen didn't even offer this. Food was dry crackers, and an equally dry and sad sandwich. Portions were very small, so plan on packing a lunch. They do offer complimentary beer and wine, but getting a steward over to serve you is near impossible. Service was gruff, and frequently not very polite. I was hit by stewards running (actually running) up and down the isle. Stewards seemed generally more interested in talking in the back of the plane than serving passengers."
Ventajas: "The food was good. I enjoyed the flight. Though I've felt that I received less than I usually do from international flights but maybe just because this was shorter. No extra bull you don't need like an over night bag (that I've been given on other airlines for over night flights) but if you're expecting it, it may be a bit of a let down. My flight was just under 6 hours so maybe it's too short for that. They served a meal and a half. A full dinner, dessert and appetizer with wine. A muffin with coffee for breakfast. The dinner was surprisingly great. I actually really loved it. The muffin was just a plain blueberry muffin purchased from the store. Just a quick half meal before leaving."
Desventajas: "Well I had planned to go take a course in Porto which was the whole reason I bought this flight. I missed everything i came here for because of it. They reimbursed people and put people up in hotels, but not me. My trip was ruined essentially due to the cancellation of my first flight but the flight itself, when it did go, was good."
