You get what you pay for
VALUE FOR MONEY AND IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING, SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND ALL YOU NEED. I WILL DEFINATLY STAY AGAIN.
THE STAIRS FROM THE MAIN DOOR TO THE RECEPTION.
There was no AC in the room and window. I talked to the front desk and they said we canot change the room. Also U talked to the Manager on duty and she said if you dont like it you can check out and find other place. I checked in tbe same day.
THE BREAKFAST WAS TOO POOR . NO CHEECE , NO CROISANT,NO HAM ........ WIFI OPERATES ONLY IN FRONT OF THE RECEPTION (NOT AT ALL TIMES, TOO DIFICULT TO CONNECT EVEN IF THE SIGNAL IT SEEMS GOOD )
Good location, clean and friendly staff
Thought it lacked some character
Very interesting building, lends itself to being intimate.
The hotel and the rooms are very individual, not the same box over and over.
Overall I would give this hotel a 3 out of 5 stars, and the only reason it gets this much is because of breakfast and the location. I found the staff to be unhelpful and at times rude. One server in the breakfast room demanded that I move from a 4 person table to a 2 person table, even though I was the only person in the room! The hotel staff explained that until they reached a certain number of complaints, they would not turn on the air conditioning in the hotel, so I had to keep the windows open which made the room very noisy. The hotel is located close to Piccadilly Square, so it is very convenient for going to MAD Lab and the Omniversity of Manchester, as well as many of downtown Manchester's many tourist sites. The hotel decor was bland, with little of interest, and few common areas. The hotel room I booked had a queen sized bed and other than that, there were only two chairs in the room and the furniture looked old.
The breakfast at the hotel was very tasty, and only cost 5 pounds extra per day when purchased at check-in.
The air conditioning was not on, the staff took forever to do anything, the walls were very thin, and having to keep the windows open to not sweat during early June made it hard to sleep from traffic noise.
