Ventajas: El hotel es muy cómodo. Cuenta con 60 habitaciones por lo que tiene unas instalaciones geniales pero sin el considerable movimiento de gente de los resorts gigantes a los que esa zona nos tiene acostumbrados. El personal es muy amable. La comida es de calidad y muy rica. Lindas vistas. Linda playa privada (con la salvedad de las cosas que puse que no nos gustaron). Tiene un servicio privado de llegada a la isla que no hace necesario llegar por el ferry que va al centro.
Desventajas: El alojamiento es perfecto. El único problema que tiene es que a ambos lados tiene dos lugares de recepción de turistas a la isla por el día que desde las diez de la mañana aproximadamente hasta las cuatro o cinco de la tarde, reciben barcos provenientes de Cancún llenos de gente. En ese horario hay un incesante ir y venir de gente y música (distinta en ambos lados y con volumen elevado) que resulta molesto si uno eligió al.alojamiento en la isla para pasar momentos de tranquilidad en pareja (es sólo adultos el hotel). Esto es diario. Parte de esa gente va y viene caminando por la playa.

Desventajas: party/day tripper boats pulled up on docks on either side of this hotel beach blaring loud music all day. Typical of Mexico but was a bummer at 10am in morning when trying to relax on the beach.

Ventajas: Comfy beds, EXCELLENT service from friendliness to helpfulness, and brilliant facilities. All very clean, and we loved the diving excursion booked through the hotel. The staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and were always so happy to help. Brilliant location which was easy to navigate from, and a real slice of heaven!
Desventajas: The only thing that could perhaps improve is the quality of food at the snack bar - in comparison to the amazing restaurant, it was average. Also (through no fault of the hotel) either side of the beach were two large docks for ‘party boats’ which blare music loudly throughout the day with a lot of kids running across the beach. Again, no fault of the hotel who managed it excellently, but worth noting that perhaps the pool is a quiet option!

Ventajas: It was a perfect stay! I would definitely come back again and stay here. Ariel and Bonnie are the perfect hosts and so good hearted, nice and helpful people. I was traveling alone as a woman and I felt very comfortable staying at their place. All the others who worked there were also very nice. Salvador is watching the Apartments by night - nicest guy on earth! They all really care about their guests and help you if you need anything! Everything was really clean, comfortable and quite so you could sleep very well. Bathroom is big and clean - nothing to be disgust about. AC worked and vents also, the safe was uncomplicated and useful, wifi sometimes weak, but who needs this here ;) Location is almost perfect - 10 seconds away from the most beautiful beach. Main Street also not far away (max. 5 min but a bit quite by night). Very good restaurant right across the street and little shops nearby. I would really recommend to stay at sea hawk when you come to isla mujeres. Thanks for making my stay so good :)

Ventajas: Staff. Being close to the beach. Boutique, family-run hotel. 30 seconds walk to Playa Norte. There is a yoga place on the beach, 30 seconds from the hotel. Has air conditioning, and functional bathroom. They own a dive shop on the same property, so ask for their 2 hour snorkeling tour. This hotel is not fancy, it's most suited for budget travelers and if you just need a good night sleep. There is a restaurant across from the hotel that has great breakfast for $10-15.

Ventajas: Comfortable big room and bed. A great restaurant North Garden right across the street wife and I had breakfast every day. We had lunch one day because at lunch we were still full from breakfast. It was a two minute walk to one of our favorite beach ever. Sea Hawk has coolers and beach chairs to use. The owners were just delightful.
Desventajas: The sewer system is not what it is in the US. Could not put TP in the toilet, but many places are that way in Mexico. Don’t know if the rooms on the second floor were this way, we were on the ground floor.

Ventajas: We had an excellent stay at Ixchel. It was our second visit abc will be returning this Spring. They are kind and helpful. Convenient location and beautiful beach!

Ventajas: The location and spaciousness of the rooms is great! They also keep it pretty neat and taken care of.
Desventajas: So this was our honeymoon and when I booked the property the pictures clearly showed a balcony, it was one of our main requirements- to have a balcony with n the room, yet when we got there it turned out that the only rooms with a balcony are the suites, and even though the hotel was semi empty due to the time of the year they refused to upgrade our room to a room with a balcony for any less than triple the price (even more than it would have cost us on line). We were deeply disappointed with the lack of courtesy of the staff, as though they couldn’t care less about this unpleasant surprise. So even though the facility was conveniently located and the hotel itself was quite comfy, we will probably look into the hotel right next to it which was no less beautiful and had balconies practically in every room.

Ventajas: Aunque el sabor de los alimentos era bueno del desayuno, el servicio dejó mucho que desear, pero el interés de la encargada del restaurante lo mejoró al interesarse y ofrecer disculpas y un descuento en la cuenta por un retraso muy largo en servir los alimentos. La ubicación del hotel es excelente al estar en una de las playas más lindas de la isla. Elvis fue muy amable y eficiente en el servicio de la playa.

Ventajas: Where to start? We loved everything in casa sirena. It is not a usual place and so everything is special there. The rooms are designed wonderfully, the steff is beyond than great. We had such a good time there and we felt at home. The happy hours are fenomenal, we had such good time with Beverly :) Jose was also very nice and made sure we had everything we need on the island. If we are back to Isla Mujeres there is no other place for us. Super recomended.

Ventajas: This is the second time I have stayed at Casa Sirena. . . Promised my wife that she would enjoy the experience as I did, five years ago. Well, we both loved it! From the wonderful breakfast thru to the margarita time at happy hour. The airconditioned rooms are spotlessly clean and the facilities are excellent. . . . You'll meet some fellow guests and develop new friendships. Steve, Jane, Jose and all the staff - thanks for the good times.

Ventajas: This is a fabulous hotel. It is more expensive than what I would usually pay but it is worth every penny. I am a solo traveller and this hotel is friendly and welcoming beyond anything I’ve ever experienced before. It’s also beautiful. The happy hour is so sociable, it’s great to be able to chat to people at the end of the day and Steve really nurtures this. Aracelli’s breakfasts are wonderful. I never needed to buy lunch once, I was full till dinner time!! Thanks to everyone.
Desventajas: I’m utterly spoiled now! All other hotels seem shoddy in comparison!

Ventajas: I was honestly a little hesitant to book our stay at Casa Sirena because I’m generally skeptical of overly positive reviews I also didn’t know if we would like hanging out with other hotel guests on the rooftop bar during happy hour each evening, and the magician thing sounded a little strange. But I’m so glad we booked! My husband and I loved our stay at Casa Sirena! Steve is an amazing host - generous, funny, and friendly - and meeting the other guests over free happy hour drinks and appetizers was a ton of fun. The hotel is lovely and in a great location a few blocks from the ferry terminal. It’s a beautiful walk along the sea wall to Playa Norte. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were HUGE and absolutely delicious. Steve has truly created a magical place!

Ventajas: Steve the owner is warm and friendly and you feel like part of the family as soon as you arrive. You’re encouraged to come to happy hour each evening and have breakfast with Steve and the other guests, which gives the place a very sociable feel. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was Mexican-style and tasty. The location is excellent. It was quiet at night so I slept very well. All in all a great stay and would recommend!

Ventajas: Loved that there was no music in the lobby or the pool. Room was always well cleaned. Took about 5-10 minutes to get hot water in the shower sometimes with less than strong water pressure. Bed pillows and linens were ok- pillows especially could be more comfortable. Liked the poolside beds and pillows and loved the infinity pool. Location was wonderful. Quiet but close to beach and town

Ventajas: Desde el momento en el que entras en hotel secreto te sientes como en casa. El staff (Gregorio, Omar, Victor entre otros) es genial, amables, hospitalarios y super helpful. El lugar esta decorado con mucho gusto, la cama es muy comoda y la infinity pool simplemente perfecta para relajarte viendo el mar. Nos permitieron hacer late check out hasta las dos sin cobro adicional para poder disfrutar de la playa en nuestro ultimo dia. Tambien te traen un delicioso desayuno continental a la habitacion cada mañana, un detalle fabuloso.
Desventajas: Nada, es un sitio genial.

Ventajas: Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. The beach in front of the hotel is perfect for sunbathing but not safe for swimming due to strong currents (there is a ‘drop off’ about 30m our from the beach. The staff will put out sun beds and bring cold drinks and food, the latter which comes from a local restaurant and takes a while so order well in advance. The fresh ceviche is superb ! There is great diving,fishing,boat trips which can all be booked through the hotel along with golf buggies.
Desventajas: The bathrooms need upgrading,particularly the showers which have mould in the walls and my wife wasn’t impressed to see a cockroach ! The laundry comes back in a few hours but you are then expected to iron it yourself.

Ventajas: Great location very close to the town and with access to a small beach. Room was really big with a nice balcony and amazing views of the pool and sea. Breakfast to the room was really nice and the staff were great.
Desventajas: The hotel is in need of a bit of work and a lick of paint as it is a bit worn in certain areas. For example, curtains and couches in rooms a little grubby and pool area is a bit worn. But would still recommend staying here.

Ventajas: Check-in was easy. Our first night was at Saltillo, a nice suite with partial ocean view. The second night we asked if there’s an oceanfront suite available, and they moved us to Xalapa, which has a wonderful ocean view from the terrace. The property is designed well and the service is just warm and thoughtful.
Desventajas: Nothing. I’ll recommend this hotel to everyone.

Ventajas: This property was perfect for our stay. Very roomy, bed was comfortable, ocean view was amazing. Less than 5 minute walk from ferry, 2 minute walk to town for restaurants, grocery, shopping and 5-10 minute walk to Playa Norte. We'll be staying here again on our next trip.

Desventajas: We had a deluxe room and although it was very nice there were many small things that needed attention. Shower head clogged probably from lack of use. There were only 2 chairs and a table on the balcony.. needs additional seating like in standard rooms. Next time we will book a standard room. Our room was never made up until almost 4 pm and that was after we made a request.

The whole staff is very welcoming. The discovery of Numa restaurant really makes our day. The food and wine were delicious and the staff among them Ricardo, Selene and Antonio took very good care of us. Thanks a lot also for the delicious caramel cappuccino !!Our advice : try the Maya coffee ! The final show of the evening !!!

Ventajas: Really would like to give a poor rating, just to keep this jewel of Isla Mujeres a kept secret. If one is looking for the perfect place with pool and beach, walk-able location, amazing staff, it can't be beat. These condo units (other than the studios) have full kitchens, patio/balconies and are set in a beautifully maintained tropical garden complete with entertaining Iguanas and kitties. Units are owned individually; each are furnished differently. Daily maid service excels, laundry can be done on site reasonably. Transportation (golf cart rental, hailing taxis, setting up tours) are services available just for the asking.
Desventajas: It is an older condo establishment, small (think 40 units) very well maintained and some units are on 2nd and 3rd floors. There is no elevator and no gym/workout facility. If these are important to you, you may want to look elsewhere.

Desventajas: Wifi was very very bad. Also, the room is very expensive and is advertised to include breakfast. This is only bread, fruit and yogurt. The first day we just took the complimentary breakfast thinking it would still be nice. The bread was stale, the fruit wasn’t fresh & we didn’t get any juice. The next day we ordered off the menu which they bring to your terrace. The food was 30 minutes late and the quality was pretty average considering the cost. Finally, not having a shuttle from the ferry included is pretty poor too.. there is one sitting outside the hotel but I am not sure who it is used for. The location only has 3 restaurants around it, including their own which is not in front of the water - this was also a bit of a shame.

Ventajas: This property has to be one of the prettiest hotels we have ever visited. As my husband said, you just couldn’t take a bad picture there. It really takes you to a past day when hotels were more eloquent and provided for their guests needs on a more individual basis. The entire grounds are terraced into the hillside with private bungalow style rooms, probably only about 15-20 rooms total. We had breakfast on our beautiful thatched roof deck every day overlooking the ocean and beautifully manicured grounds. The pool is set below the terraced rooms with a view over the beautiful turquoise ocean and you can enjoy lunch or drinks in the afternoon at the poolside bar. In the evening the pool is lit up with beautiful colored lights and the rooms and decks as well have beautiful well thought out lighting that welcomes you to enjoy the evening. The staff made our stay exceptionally nice giving us our privacy but always seeming to know when we needed something or letting us know dinner was being served in the dining room if we were so inclined. This place was truly the highlight of our stay on isla and even though we explored the island we couldn’t wait to get back to our room.

The rest of the rooms and their patios looked significantly nicer than ours. Our patio didn’t have a cover, the furniture on it was old and rickety compared to everybody else’s.

Ventajas: The place is nice, with beautiful views. Room is spacious and clean, I really liked big windows and balcony, it really brightened up the room. There were sunblocking curtains so if you like to sleep in it is totally doable. Nice and enough toiletries, soft towels. Bed was a bit too soft for me. There are bycicles available, unfortunatelly they don't provide locks for them so you can't leave them unattended. It's a nice walk to the most eastern side of the island (nice sunrise). Also the restaurant Kinha, which is below the hotel, on the way to the beach, is great! Breakfasts are served there and we also had some cocktails and snacks - nice views, good service, delicious food.
Desventajas: The beach below the hotel is not the best (there was seaweed when we were there), the nice white sandy beach is on the other side of the island (playa norte).

The second time I asked for massage on the pier (you dont need aircon there;), but again they said they would check. Third time I did not ask. I did not have massage there. Pity. For those with small children, a lot of stairs from the hotel to the „beach” and restaurant. There is only pier, no sand beach.

Ventajas: The hotel is really basic but clean and the price is appropriate. Position very conveninet for the beach (playa Norte) and the city center. The last day the staff let us use a room to have a quick shower after our check out and before leaving, a greatfull option if you want to enjoy the beach till late.
Desventajas: The AC is not working if you are out of the room (the electicity works with the key and they give you only one key for each room), so every time it takes long time to have less than 30° in the bedroom. They don't provide any confort (no bottles of water, no more than 1 towels each) The first night the staff has been very rude: the electricity in one of the room was not working properly and we asked for a change; they told us they would have changed our bedroom later, so we went out for dinner and drinks. When we came back after midnight the secutiry guy said us he was not aware of the change and that we would have to wait till the next morning because we came back after 23 and the receptionist was not there anymore (none have advised us to come back before 23). Anyway after a long discussion he called his responsable and we had the new room.

We fell in love with Luna de miel suite, We had room #2. the rooms are super spacious, the bed is big and comfortable, it's very private not too far from the center. The water pressure was great this time! It's very clean and the sight outside is gorgeous all in all a romantic spot for you and your significant other.
Desventajas: We stayed in room #1 There were ants in the bathroom, our tiny fridge wouldn't stay closed, the AC took hours to cool the room. Lastly, I was disappointed that at night - none of the beautiful light decorations or pool lights were on like the first time we came 2 years ago.

Ventajas: El hotel está en muy buena zona,cerca de la playa norte y en una calle con mucho ambiente y vida. Las habitaciones están muy limpias y la cama comodisima.El dueño es muy amable y resolutivo.
Desventajas: El desayuno es muy malo en mi opinión. Hay más botes que ponen TIPS en las mesas que otra cosa. Me parece que por ese precio ya puede tener un desayuno bastante mejor. Además en las habitaciones que están justo al lado del salón de desayuno a partir de las 8 de la mañana se escucha mucho ruido.

Ventajas: La ubicación, la limpieza, el cuarto es muy pequeño y nada lujoso pero tiene todo lo que necesitas para una estancia cómoda y con ciertas facilidades en Isla Mujeres a muy buen precio. Me volvería a hospedar ahí sin pensarlo dos veces. Me encanto que tengan agua en los pasillos lista para tomar y que te presten toallas de playa. También el desayuno básico pero con frita y café para mi es suficiente. Te permiten bañarte en un área privada una vez que has entregado la habitación lo cual también es un gran detalle.
Desventajas: El aire acondicionado daba directo a las camas. Aun cuando las ventilas las moviéramos hacia arriba o hacia abajo nunca me ha gustado que estén directo a las camas. Al final tuvimos que apagarlo pero en esta temporada no tan calurosa sobrevivímos con un poco de calor.

Ventajas: If you're looking for a posh Cancun-style party location, go elsewhere! If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with lots of tranquility, you've found it! Very nice small hotel with basic but romantic rooms, breathtaking views and super friendly staff. The rooftop restaurant is very good and if you'd like to go to Playa Norte or explore the island, you'll find taxis along the street all the time to get there in some minutes.

Ventajas: El lugar estuvo increíble pero se veía deshabitado, ya al día siguiente me explicaron que estaban a punto de salir de vacaciones por ser temporada baja sin embargo creo que eso no es justificación para dejar sin empleados el hotel, eso le baja calidad al servicio, si tenías dudas no había a quien contactar mas que por teléfono, el lugar me gustó pero si me deja la duda si la próxima vez que vaya va a ser igual o todo lo contrario, con exceso de clientes.

Desventajas: Bright lights shining into room during the night due to outside lights and sheer curtains. Photos are old and not representative of the quality of accommodations, as many others have said. Spa-like touches are non-existent and cleaning staff is leaderless. Spend working hours sitting and eating. Can't perform basic services, eg, left a nearly empty lotion bottle for my new check-in. Upon my consulting on-site mgmt because owners are not reachable, empty bottle sat in the middle of housekeeper's folding table while they both ate and talked while Sitting On Stools!! Lack of leadership and management.

Ventajas: La casa es realmente hermosa, tranquila y con una hermosa vista que te invita a no salir. Sin embargo, lo que más me gustó fue la atención de Lila y todo el personal del hotel, quienes fueron muy amables, te orientan en las cosas que puedes hacer y te hacen sentir a gusto en todo momento. Sin duda lo recomiendo si buscas unos días tranquilos de piscina.

Desventajas: No está cómodo el baño ya que no tiene privacidad si vas acompañado, la distancia si. O rentas carrito de golf está retirado del centro de restaurantes y bares, necesita más luz en la parte de afuera muy obscuro, el Wifi no conecta y no tienen pantalla.

Ventajas: Amazing place. Right in the center but still quiet. One of the best Breakfasts on the Island, their cafe is always full. Also Madjid was super friendly and was a great host. The place is even nicer than in the pictures and has 2 rooftop terraces. You get complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. I would definitely return and can only recommend this place.

Ventajas: The staff is very friendly and the owner helped us so much when we did not get our luggage. It came after 3 days. Also, he showed us a map of the island and was very helpful in general. The location is great, in the middle of the center of playa norte, with a very short walk to the main street. Still, it's a quiet place and you get the privacy you need. You have to pay extra for the breakfast, but it's delicious! We will come back :) Thank you so much!

Desventajas: We had a deluxe room and although it was very nice there were many small things that needed attention. Shower head clogged probably from lack of use. There were only 2 chairs and a table on the balcony.. needs additional seating like in standard rooms. Next time we will book a standard room. Our room was never made up until almost 4 pm and that was after we made a request.

Ventajas: One day spent at Izla Hotel was enough to appreciate its comfort and nice environment . The design is great and modern. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well equiped. The whole staff is very welcoming. The discovery of Numa restaurant really makes our day. The food and wine were delicious and the staff among them Ricardo, Selene and Antonio took very good care of us. Thanks a lot also for the delicious caramel cappuccino !!Our advice : try the Maya coffee ! The final show of the evening !!!

La habitacion estaba super increible! contaba con cocineta, frigobar y muchos lugares donde poner cosas y colgar la ropa que nunca sobran :) supero mis expectativas! la habitacion era muy grande, la cama super confortable y el baño tenia una tina grande tipo jacuzzi, me encanto la tranquilidad y sin ruidos por la noche!.
Desventajas: todo me gusto, lo unico es que para ir a la zona turistica, que esta en la zona norte, hay que tomar taxi o rentar carrito de golf porque el hotel esta en la punta sur , entonces caminando, no hay manera. Sin embargo, nosotros teniamos actividades en la punta sur como ver el amanecer e ir a un beach club y todo nos quedo caminando asi que nos parecio ideal!

Desventajas: Vale la pena recomendar a otros visitantes que las opciones de comercio (bebidas, comidas) se encuentran a un par de km del hotel. Sería muy útil si ofrecieran bicicletas de alquiler o préstamo para los huéspedes!

Ventajas: Habitación increíble con bañera de hidromasaje y balcón. Está a unos 10 min en coche del centro de la isla y no hay restaurante pero incluye desayuno y te dan opción de pedir comida a la habitación.
Desventajas: Demasiado alejado del centro, no puedes llegar a la playa caminando ya que todas las playas de la zona son privadas y del lado opuesto es acantilado, cuesta aproximadamente 100-120 pesos llegar en taxi a playa norte que es la mejor playa de la isla.

Desventajas: The descriptions says the beach is a few steps away...it is at least a 5 mins walk and not particularly good swimming spot. I wanted to see the Temple ruins at dawn but security gates were not unlocked until after 7 am. I feel this hotel is over-priced.
