Did not honor my confirmation reservation through Kayak

Hotel was modern, up to date and clean.

They did not honor my confirmation reservations through Kayak. I paid for a standard 2 double bed room for 3 adults ( this is ON my reservation!). I even called to confirm and was told that,yes, the room was 2 double beds. Upon arrival the room was a king bed. WE HAD 3 ADULTS! They said they were full and could not change it. They only offered to call 'next door' to a Hampton Inn to see if they had any rooms, without a refund! No rollaway beds, cots or any other accommodations were even attempted. No other attempts were made to alleviate this situation. Their reason: I booked through a third party, "Kayak" and I would get whatever was available!? That I should have booked directly through the hotel and this 'happens all the time". The 2 men working the desk were not helpful at all and would rather send their businesss elsewhere. They had a "take it or leave it" attitude. We ended up trading with a family member who had a small child that had a double bed room. We even booked our reservations at the same time, but they got what they asked for!? On a side note: The room phone did not work. So, the hotel will take your money but you won't get what you paid for, even with confirmation. Upon checkout they said they would call and obtain a partial refund and they would notify me by email- not expecting to see it happen though.
