Summerhill Hotel

Lovely location, plenty of car parking space,friendly staff, scrumptous, plentiful breakfasts. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We had a relaxed and happy time there. Would definately stay again.

Dinner was advertised a being served between 7pm and 8pm however the owners expected everybody to eat at 7pm. When I asked if we could eat later (7.30pm) the owner said 'Well I suppose we can do 7.30 but you'll have to be bang on time' We only stayed for 3 nights but in that time the chambermaid never tidied and folded the towels in the bathroom. When we came in in the evening they were just as we had left them in the morning. We sat in the bar one evening chatting to other residents while the owner lady sat behind the bar reading a book, she never spoke to us, just sat reading her book. When it came to 11 o'clock and time to close the bar she told us it was time for bed and switched off the lights.

room was very comfortable ,very clean,the breakfasts were exellent plenty of whatever you wanted, and the staff were very good.

the hotel was at the bottom of a long uphill walk not good for people with walking problems.
