Desventajas: Need to more clearly state this locations hours and that they do not hold cars for you like other locations

Ventajas: The hertz counter at JFK airport was great. The person was nice and it was a smooth process.

Desventajas: The booking at Canandaigua was scheduled to drop off after hours. But the Canandaigua location wasn’t incredibly difficult to see at night since it was just a small sign in a window of a building that was primarily for another company. Then the out of hours drop box had no sign is was for hertz. It was plastered with the logo of the company that clearly was the main company of the building. When I felt uncomfortable with dropping the key in an unmarked (with hertz) drop box, I received these crazy suggestions to just lock the keys in the car but that I would be charged for an unlock fee. One rep told me the Canandaigua location was not an after hours location whereas another rep did say that was the case. I offered to bring the car back the neck day so that I could safety and comfortably return the car but was told I would incur a late fee. In all - while hertz was willing to talk to me, they did not seem to have it fully together when trying to give their car back to them and the suggested solutions seemed inappropriate while the right solution (have a branded after hours drop off box) did not exist.

Ventajas: Staff at the front desk for check in were kind. Overall the process was quick and painless.

Desventajas: The car that I reserverd was advertised to fit 7 people and 3 bags. The car I received was a Chevy Tahoe, which has a very small third row that only fits one, at most two, people comfortably. This meant that fitting 7 people into the vehicle was extremely tight and extremely uncomfortable.

Ventajas: Staff was friendly.

Desventajas: The signs at pickup advertised transponder system for tolls, but without the transponder in the car I had no way to know that the system also worked by plate recognition.

Ventajas: The car was great.

Desventajas: When picking up the car, we asked if it would be an issue to change the drop off location if needed. What we were not told, is that our cost would go from $230 to $530 just for returning it to the same location rather than the airport. This company swindled it’s customers and should be ashamed.
