Ventajas: We were s family of 7 with 4 bedrooms, and verve happy all our rooms were on the same floor.
Desventajas: We didn't like that only I bottle of water was given for 2 persons & only on our first day. We had to pay for water. No kettle in rooms to make tea or coffee . Through the day we had to pay for coffee, tea & water. At breakfast, fried egg or omelettes was an extra cost Dinner in the main dining room was not good... Very small portions, food was served cold! £150 not with it! We never eat there again. Found local Resturant for the next 6 days.
Desventajas: The suite does not have a separate bedroom so not sure why they call it a suite? And for the price paid I would have expected a separate bedroom and some coffee making facilities; but nothing.
Desventajas: Restaurant overpriced and not tasty
Ventajas: Very friendly staff. Nice place.
Ventajas: The warm thermal swimming pool with many jacuzzis was delightful and visited many times a day, easy to cool off without the shock of a cold pool. There was a beautiful cold pool too in a lovely garden. The rooms were very comfortable and attractive and there were lots of good cleaning staff. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was very good. The cafe made fantastic salads and other lunch time food, available until 4pm. The Grotto was an experience, quiet and detoxing. There were different places to relax in, outside and inside.
Desventajas: There weren't any WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS for opening times of the pools, the cafes, the dining room, the meal times etc. There were TOO FEW SIGNPOSTS to get from the room down the long corridors to the spa, grotto and pool - and in a week we did not get it without feeling lost down the many corridors. There was also a requirement to go up to the 1st floor, then walk along the corridor past other rooms, then descend to the ground floor again and navigate more mostly un-signposted corridors. To get to the pool there is a quick cut through going on the outside, but getting into it seemed dependent on the good will of the cafe manager to let you in if the cafe is not open. There is probably a way, otherwise, but it isn't indicated. Also WATER... This is a Spa. Water was not available unless you knew where one of the two water coolers in this rabbit warren were located, one out of sight of passing guests, located in a relaxation room, and one I cannot remember where. We were not offered water by every therapist after treatment, notably the whole body mud pack treatment at 47 degrees. Some offered herbal tea, a small cup. So hydration was not easy. The air temperature was high and mounting and water was not available. I would have thought a top Spa like this would have this sorted. A notice in the rooms said the tap water was drinkable but not advised. I drank it and don't know if an uneasy stomach was due to that. There is one cafe by the thermal pool where one can buy water, and one sort of service by the small cold pool which was available sometimes but not always. So I would suggest to the owners to make water freely available, with water coolers, to the hotel guests. The SHUTTLE: We thought this could be made more flexibly available to guests. Taxis cost 20Euros each way, so 40 Euros to go down into the lovely Montecatini for a drink, a meal, shopping or a concert, which is good for a break in a week's stay. That's a good amount of money.
Ventajas: Everything was wonderful: the breakfast, the room cleanness, calmness, all facilities including a gym, the thermal outdoor pool, etc. The grotto per se is a divine experience. The hotel provides wide spectrum of spa treatments including variety of massage techniques, mud and aroma therapy. This historical spa hotel proved its quality over 170 years.
Ventajas: the pools and the pool restaurant
Desventajas: they closed the pool restaurant and the main pool at 15:00... We know it was for cleaning purposes but it was a fantastic sunny day and this should have been done after 17:00

Ventajas: The rooms are very large and the pool is cool, even though it is very small. There are lots of cool crop to go look at and the Agriturismo is very quiet. The views are nice since the Agriturismo is located on top of a hill. The staff was very courteous and nice when we did see them
Desventajas: 1. We were told we have to check in at a nearby hotel, but never realized it was an unusual 20 minute drive on the other side of the highway...wasted 40 minutes of our time to check in 2. The rooms are dark and uncomfortable and covered in spiderwebs and mosquitos. You will wake up with many mosquito bites if you didn't get the AC and can't cover yourself with blankets due to heat. Also my wife is scared of spiders and was constantly making me kill them here and there. 3. There will be no staff at the agriturismo. No one to give you a fork, answer questions, give you a tour of the farm, tell you about the plants....no one. It's you and the other guests until morning breakfast. 4. The lack of organized activities made our stay very boring. We pretty much entertained ourselves by looking at the plants and trying to fix the rusty bikes for a ride around the hills. There is also no internet 5. For us, AC and breakfast would only be included as an additional cost of 10 Euro per amenity.

Ventajas: It is very authentic place with vintage furniture, great small terrace with tables and chairs accompanying every room. The scenery is beautiful and the resort is peaceful, surrounded by an olive tree forest and great view over the village.
Desventajas: The check in is done in a hotel 10km from the resort, which we were not aware of. There were no glasses, cups, small plates, kettle, fridge in the room. The air conditioning is an extra 10 euro per day which we were ok to pay.

Ventajas: Privacy and staying close to Grotta Giusto
Desventajas: I came with no car (decided to spend 2 days in quiet between a tour and my own trip to Florence), so I had no way to get dinner or even buy water after staff left at 1 pm. I didn't read the fine print and the absence of wifi or TV or a phone that works in Italy was a problem. Not a place for a solo traveler without a car
