Quick TripVentajas: Service was quick and friendly.
Desventajas: The cost of the car ended up being much more expensive, insurance was much more expensive. Customer service was bad. Car wasn't in good repair, dents and scratches, crack in the windshield. No accountability on Avis' side, a writing pad to mark issues was basically thrown at us. Won't be renting with Avis EVER again. Was extremely disappointed to say the least.

InsuranceVentajas: My pick up was at MSP airport. There are two rental car terminals. My reservation was made for Terminal 2, which I wasn't aware of. I expected only to be one rental location. I went to Terminal 1 not knowing the difference. The agent was able to get me squared away without me having to go to the other location. Desventajas: The agent tried to upsell me on insurance. Made me wonder if the insurance I elected would cover the entire car, in rental speak "just walk away". I had some concern about the limitations of the coverage. It would be a better practice for Kayak or the partner site to use the same language that the rental car company uses so that there is any confusion and to do so as the reservation is being made.
Find the car was not easy. Since I didn't upgrade the car or the insurance as the agent wanted, he was less than helpful in helping me navigate or find the vehicle.
Desventajas: Because my flight got in three hours later than the pick up time they refused to honor the original price and charged me almost twice as much. Will never use them again, no matter how cheap they are.
Ventajas: It was comfortable and started when it was 20 degrees below zero.
Check in and check out was quickDesventajas: They charged more than the reservation stated and the first vehicle had a "check engine" and "maintenance" light lit. It makes me not trust them because they are not paying attention just washing them and sending them out

Bad experienceVentajas: 2nd car was clean and ready to go. Desventajas: Once I got to the line, it took me 45 minutes to get through it and get the car I reserved. Three other employees, other than the guy who helped me, we’re too busy talking with friends to help people in line. The first car I got was a hatchback - i’m 6’2” and was going to be driving about 1000 miles round trip. Had to go wait in line a second time to get a new car that fit.
Desventajas: I had to wait in line for 45 minutes to pick up the car. Not enough empolyees.
Budget ?Ventajas: The team at the pick up desk was friendly. Return agent in terminal 1 was friendly. Car performed nicely.Desventajas: The car was clean, but smelled of chewing tobacco. They ran out of compact cars just as the women was selecting the car. I was forced to up grade at the upgrade price. I should have been given the same rate. Things weren’t clear as to one line for all so I stood behind a guy getting his car. No one said anything until another customer piped up and asked if the roped area was for all. I lost my place in line and the compact car. The return was stressful. After driving around I wound up in terminal 2. The budget guy told me I had to go to 1. Was not helpful. A security guard was far more helpful. Overall not the best experience. 300.00 for having a car for around 26 27 hours is no budget!

GoodDesventajas: Pick up took a little longer than expected due to being busy and understaffed. Drop off was fast and smooth. They didn't seem to have any options for cars in the category I booked without paying more. The car was mostly clean expect for the windshield- it was smeery on the inside.
Desventajas: Waited for an hour in the line of pickup. Extremely inefficient. Near missed my friends wedding.

Great service...terrible heatVentajas: We really enjoyed the price and customer service of the rental. Tonya was personable and efficient at the check out! The rental was easy to find with signs throughout the Minneapolis airport. Desventajas: The rental itself was just okay, so I suppose you get what you pay for. The heat worked terribly, during a time of year when heat is a nonnegotiable in Minnesota. We could not have the heat on us, or else the windows would fog so much that visibility was impossible, so we spent our 5 hour drive cold, only able to have the heat on defrost. Also, the suspension of the car was not good. The ride was bumpy...the entire way.
Outside help was badVentajas: Max at the desk was very helpful and should Be commended. The outside drop off was terrible! After he tried to charge me over $400 for a 129 rental and I had proof in two forms and just said no can’t help you or change it. I’m catching a plane. And don’t have time to argue. Then he got ticked off when I suggested a manager look at it. I went inside and Max handled it for me with a smile and no questions.

Couldn't have been much better Ventajas: I was very impressed by the Dollar staff at the Minneapolis airport. Very friendly and helpful. The pick up spot was hard to find being stuck way behind Hertz but it was well worth the effort. I used Dollar for the first time because of the low price but was delighted with the service. For sure I'll be using them the next time I travel. Desventajas: The car I rented had one minor flaw. It was difficult to keep the trunk shut. I had to slam it several times before it would catch. Fortunately I noticed the problem while still driving in the city and was able to pull over without a problem. I reported the problem when I returned the car and was assured it would be fixed.

Desventajas: Drop off - Your paperwork said to return the car at the wrong terminal at MSP. We were flying out of Terminal 1 and the paperwork gave the Terminal 2 address. So we had to drive over to Terminal 1 from Terminal 2. Then they tried to charge us $200+ more than your quoted price. I had to go into the counter, show them my paperwork and they gave me the quoted price.
Ventajas: I got the least expensive car, a compact (Hyundai Accent), and it was very nice, fun to drive, also excellent gas mileage.
Ventajas: Car was nice and clean. Was told I could pick out any of the full sized cars available (although there was only one).Desventajas: Price slightly higher than Kayak quoted. Woman who rented me the car was not very friendly. Worst thing was it took me a long time to find out where to go - no one was at the counter in the terminal and there wasn't a sign telling customers where to go. The man at the Hertz counter gave misinformation regarding where to go, sending me to short-term parking. Tried calling 800 number for help but they were unable to help. Finally I just went out to the parking ramp across the street and found some signs directing me to another rental counter. If I was by myself it wouldn't have been as bad, but I was pushing my elderly mother in a wheelchair.

Outcome was not good Ventajas: The car was clean and comfortable.Desventajas: It was never explained that there were 2 different places to drop the vehicle off at the Minneapolis airport. I was charged an additional 120.00 in fees because I did not drop it off at the correct location even though I dropped it off right next to where I picked up the car 5 days prior. Poor signage. I have no idea where the other location even is at the airport.
Desventajas: It was cold in Minnesota and when I turned the heat on the windows would cloud up. I had to continuously turn on the rear and front window heaters which would then shut off the heat. But it was alright, I did not freeze but it could have been a little more comfortable. I would rent from them again.
HorribleVentajas: Nothing about enterprise Desventajas: Our rental was supposed to be $460 for 12 days but I was charged $610. Enterprise told me they couldn’t find my booking and had to make a new one even though I had the confirmation number. When I called about the extra $150 I was transferred around and around no one was able to help. I will definitely be using a different rental company next time.
Kayak booked me with off airport carDesventajas: I booked a car using Kayak supposedly for MSP but when I got to the airport, I was that the car was for an off-airport location some 15 minutes away by taxi...and that I would return the car to the same location...they ended up renting me a car at 2.5x the price I reserved...never again...Kayak or Enterprise
Desventajas: Cloth interior seating stained and appeared dirty.
Desventajas: they put a phantom charge on my account that temporarily doubled the cost. I was given no notice that I saw that the charge was coming. Almost ruined my whole trip.

Then when dropped I realized I left my sunglasses in the console and when I called just a few hours later they where gone. Obviously who ever cleans them needed my $200 sunglasses more than me. We won't use them or kayak again. This was a horrible experience.

wrong location pick upVentajas: I thought I was to pick up my car at the airport. When I realized it was an off airport site, Enterprise was very good about canceling the reservation. However, to pick up the car at the airport, tripled the price! I went on line, at the airport, reserved a car - but it went to another vendor. Desventajas: If Enterprise would have honored my original reservation price, or even near that, I would have stayed with them. As it was, I went to another vendor and actually got a lower price then I was originally going to pay.

I thought I booked the car at enterprise MSP airport only to find upon arrival that my car was at a Plymouth Enterprise location. I couldn't book another car or transfer the rental to MSP airport because the enterprise airport and off airport systems don't "talk" to each other. No other rentals were available. Had to take an $80 cab ride to the location to get my rental car. On return, dropped off at the airport for convenience which will likely incur at least $75 charge. Will pay at least $155 more than expected. Who knows what other fee they will try to tack on. Will never book a rental car through here again or with enterprise!
Terminal 2 rental return was quick, but watch for the signs!Ventajas: Terminal 2 rental return was quiet and quick. Desventajas: A bit challenging to find the rental return and figure out where to go in the parking ramp.
No cars available.Desventajas: We arrived to a scene of chaos--long lines and angry customers who had reservations and had been waiting for hours with no cars available. When it was finally our turn in line, we too were told that there were no cars, but that we could check with the other agencies to see if they had something, and that Hertz would cancel our reservation. We found a bigger car, for less than our prepaid Hertz rate, from another agency, and I returned to cancel our car. Only this time I was told that since it was prepaid through a third party, I could no longer cancel it through Hertz. Ugh. I will never again rent from Hertz.
Worst Hertz Experience everDesventajas: Irrispective of booking a specific class vehicle 2 months in advance (T6 - Suburban or similiar) they did not have the vehicle. Told us to wait while they make a plan, 40min later we were told no plan could be made and a smaller vehicle is our only option or we can try another rental company. We then asked for a refund as the rental was paid in advance via Kayak, Hertz said even though they have received the money we will need to talk to Kayak, we might add this was after they took another $300 holding deposit. Long story short, other rental companies were sold out on such larger vehicles we therefore had to go with a smaller vehicle from Hertz. Result - Paid for a Suburban got a Tahoe, no refund, had to donate a baby stroller as all the luggage did not fit, Hertz still took and have not refunded the holding deposit as well. You’de be better off with another rental company, seems Hertz has lost the plot somewhere!!!

Hertz automatically pulled outdated information for meDesventajas: Hertz automatically pulled outdated, 4-year-old information on me based on my credit card and used that info to contact me without my approval or consent. Based on this, I was automatically enrolled in the loss-damage-waiver and all receipts were sent to an old email I don't have access to. The agent never confirmed any of this information with me and I ended up getting charged an extra $100.

Nice VehicleVentajas: Despite having over 15k miles, the vehicle was scratch/dent free. It was spotless inside and out.Desventajas: Although I got an upgrade, the vehicle I rented was not available. Pickup was delayed while they looked for a vehicle. No one walked the car with me to check for dings/scratches.
Drop-off was chaotic. Cars were backed up in all lines. There was barely room to pull into the drop-off section of the lot to check out and unload my bags. Drop-off tech was very friendly and courteous.

Almost missed it...Desventajas: Our rental was confirmed for pickup at 11 pm - we showed up at 10:40 pm (after calling en-route without getting an answer) and found the door locked and the attendant about ready to leave. He said "we were lucky that we just caught him because he was planning to leave early". Ultimately, it worked out fine, but we were really close to being stranded in -20F cold without a vehicle for our trip...
Traveling with a baby......Ventajas: They were great! From pick up to drop off, everything went smoothly. Not too keen on having to go off campus to get my vehicle but the drivers were both wonderful and so helpful. Desventajas: little bit of a wait for muy car because 4 of us showed up at the same time but that is understandable. It might have been nice to have more then one teller.

The first car they gave me wreaked of marijuana and the second one had stains all over the seats. The girls at the customer service desk were very nice and the car drove nicely, but other than that it was a bad experience.

The ended giving an upgrade crossover. Then we had to ask questions: how to start the car, how to adjust the seat, where was the headlight on/off. Took about 40 minutes to get right type of car and learn how to operate.

Drop-off in Milwaukee was fine.Desventajas: When I picked up the car in Minneapolis on Friday 1/12/17 (between 2 and 3 PM), the rep asked whether I wanted insurance. I clearly declined. I always decline insurance since my existing auto insurance covers rentals. When I dropped off the car and reviewed receipts I noticed that I was charged not only for basic insurance but also other add-on coverages, almost doubling the expected cost.
Admittedly, I should have been paying more attention at pick-up - the contract the rep handed me at that time definitely had these charges listed. It probably would have been pretty straightforward to reverse these then. No one was able to do anything about it at drop-off. Very kind / understanding, but hands were tied. Ultimately, when I called Thrifty customer support someone agreed to credit me for the insurance. Seemed like they were making a one-time exception to the rule. I get it.
Bottom line, be careful at pick-up, especially in Minneapolis. The rep there just seemed pretty checked out / inattentive. Kind of frustrating that declining everything resulted not only gave in basic insurance but also extra coverage.
Desventajas: I was charged 6 times more for returning the car to the wrong terminal. I was never told that there were two return spots at the same airport, or that I would be charged 6x more for a small simple mistake.

Reserved car not availableVentajas: Price was reasonable.Desventajas: Fuel surcharge of $5 wasn't included in the price estimate. I reserved a full-size car, but none were available, so I could only get a mid-size.
Desventajas: We specifically ordered a 4 wheel drive because my husband was driving in Northern Minnesota. At check-in, he asked if it was 4 wheel drive, they said yes. An hour outside of Minneapolis, he slipped on ice. It was not 4 wheel drive. We called, their answer was to return to the airport in Minnesota...it wasn't an option. We ended up paying for another rental car that was 5x's the price. We are still out about $180 for this experience.
