87 miles north of Chicago up Interstate 94 is the City and County of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The largest city in Wisconsin, Milwaukee has its own distinct personality and character. Chicago as Carl Sandberg wrote may be the city of broad shoulders, hog butcher to the world, but Milwaukee is a big, brawny, muscular town in its own right.
Historically, Milwaukee has been a beer town, and many breweries large and small have flourished there. While Schlitz may be "The Beer that Made Milwaukee Famous," Milwaukee is the city of origin for many other legendary names in the brewing industry including Pabst, Schlitz, and Blatz.
